Set your intentions....

It is Sunday.... we have a fresh week starting tomorrow. You likely have a vague idea of what is going on in your life this next week. For example work/vacation; quiet week/social week; kids schedules/pet appointments; events attending; projects due; etc. There is one thing you do know... you live in Houston, Texas and it is hot as hell so if the weather impacts you coming to the gym or not, I implore you to find a way to get in early...before the sun comes up.

Setting our intentions for the week... actually putting them on paper or in our calendar increases the likelihood of us following through. If we live by a "see how it goes" mindset we are bound to be swayed by how we feel and that usually doesn't play in our favor health wise. Preparation is key to discipline and accountability.

Fresh week to shoot for 5-6 workouts. Even if you don't make it in for class all 5-6 can you get SOMETHING in on the days you don't. A run, a walk (intentional), mini at home workout (air squats, push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, etc.). It is not unhinged to get yourself in the habit of 5 days of exercise. Your body will thank you.

Let's be better than we were last week. If you crushed workouts last week, let's shoot for better nutrition this week.  A little more discipline, a couple more vegetables, a few less sweets, limits on our alcohol.  Choose something that you are going to do better this week than last.  I'll be asking at the end of the week how it went.

Set the example for those we care about or that we come across in our daily lives. You have no idea who you are inspiring with the things you do each day!
